My Story

Robert Saric

My friend’s call me Robi – or even ‘Bosko’ occasionally (long story). I grew up in Windsor, Ontario (which I still proudly call my hometown). I am passionate about many things and driven to succeed (sometimes even a little too much). I’m an extremely hard worker who never takes anything for granted. My work ethic has been innately instilled in me by my parents. They have always done everything in their power to ensure that both my sister and I have had every opportunity to succeed both professionally and as individuals. Words really cannot describe the immense respect I have for them both.

I love sports.

I played Varisty football at McMaster in Hamilton, but my career was cut short by injury. Personally, I find that it’s always better to discover what one cannot do, than what one can do. I have always been more of a summer athlete, mainly because my skiing and skating skills are pretty close to terrible, but i’ll keep trying. Also, golf is probably the best AND worst way for me to relieve stress – depending on how well I played that day.

I love everything to do with new technologies, entrepreneurship and business strategy.

I am an avid reader, and a few magazines I enjoy are Technology Review, the Economist, Wired and yes, even Vanity Fair (which by the way is a great read).  When I feel under-informed with a particular topic, I will put my full attention towards learning it. Literature has not only molded my way of thinking, but it has provided me with insight into the minds of many brilliant individuals.  I tend to be extremely opportunistic, which at times has been both a blessing and a curse.  I am also still an advocate of Silicon Valley North, or should I say, what’s left of it.
